In one line

This website carries no advertising, no third-party analytics and no cookies belonging to any other company. That is why you will not see a banner asking for your permission: we store only three of our own cookies, all of them needed for the site to work, and none of them is used to track you or to identify who you are.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a very small file that a website stores in your browser so it can remember something from one page to the next — that you have already signed in, for example. Alongside cookies there are other browser stores: *local storage*, *session storage* and *IndexedDB*. We use none of the three.

Exactly what we store

If you are only looking around, we store nothing in your browser

If you arrive at the site and browse without doing anything else, nothing at all is stored in your browser: no cookies, and no data of any other kind. Zero. We verified this by opening the site in a fresh window and inspecting all four possible stores.

The three cookies that exist, and when they appear

Each one appears only after you do something specific, never before:

All three are first-party cookies, served from www.renta100.com. All three are marked HttpOnly and Secure, which means no script running on the page can read them and they only travel over an encrypted connection.

The three cookies that exist, and when they appear
CookieWhen it appearsWhat it is forHow long it lastsSize
r100_gateWhen you enter the site access passwordRemembering that you have already been granted access, so we do not ask again on every pageAbout 30 days87 bytes
sb-…-auth-tokenWhen you sign in to your private areaKeeping your session openFor as long as your session lastsAbout 300 bytes
r100_wlWhen you submit the form asking us to notify youRemembering that you already submitted it, so we do not ask for your email againUntil you close your browser8 bytes

What is inside them

This matters more than their names:

  • `r100_gate` contains no data about you. It is a signed timestamp recording when access expires. It carries no email address, no identifier, and nothing that could reveal who you are.
  • `r100_wl` is literally worth `1`. Eight bytes: the name of the cookie and a one. It is a flag meaning "this browser already submitted the form", nothing more. It cannot reveal who signed up, only that it was done from this browser.
  • `sb-…-auth-token` is the session cookie of our database provider. It exists only if you have an account and have signed in.

Why we do not ask for your permission with a banner

The law requires consent for cookies that are not strictly necessary to provide the service you have asked for: advertising cookies, third-party audience measurement, and cross-site tracking.

There are none of those here. We use no Google Analytics, no social-network pixels, no advertising tools, and no other third-party technology that stores data in your browser. We have verified this both in the browser and in our own source code.

The three cookies that do exist appear as a direct result of something you asked for — entering the site, signing in, or submitting a form — and without them that action would not work.

If we ever decide to add third-party measurement or advertising, you will see a consent banner before anything is installed, with the option to refuse made as visible and as easy as the option to accept. This page will be updated first.

How we count visits without cookies

We do want to know how many people visit the site and which pages are read most. We use Vercel Web Analytics, a tool that installs no cookies and does not identify visitors: it counts visits in aggregate and anonymously. That is why it does not appear in the table above — it stores nothing in your browser.

A note about your IP address

This policy is about what is stored in your browser. Your IP address is not stored there: it travels with every request any browser makes to any website, and it is the server that sees it.

We use it for one thing only — limiting how many requests can be made in a row, to protect us from abusive use — and it is kept for one hour from your last interaction, in a service called Upstash. It is not stored in our database, it does not appear in any log, and it is not sent to any other provider. We explain this in full in our Privacy Policy.

How to view or delete cookies

You can inspect and delete them at any time from your browser settings:

If you delete r100_gate or the session cookie, you will simply need to enter the password or sign in again.

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage website data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Changes to this policy

If we change what we store, we will update this page and change the date above. If the change involves cookies that require your permission, we will ask you before installing them.
